Bubbles of our Youth is the new LP from Olympia, WA band, The Celestials. The album’s eight tracks interweave glowing guitar brushstrokes with fidgety digital textures, leaving the listener in a lull of fizzy, nostalgic bliss. Lyrically hovering between dreamy introspection and cynical everyday observation, the vocals loom over the soundscapes like a haze of afternoon cigarette smoke. Accordingly, the album’s dreamy, sun-soaked psychedelia has a ghostly undercurrent, as if this leisurely boulevard cruise has a less-than-familiar destination.
